Google unveiled groundbreaking data transformation capabilities for its BigQuery cloud data warehouse platform that will help users get insights faster and easier than ever before.
The new capabilities leverage BigQuery’s core strengths: its scalability and speed. While these features have traditionally been leveraged for data processing and analysis, Google has now added robust data transformation capabilities to the mix, allowing data engineers and data scientists to quickly transform data without compromising performance.
The new features include BigQuery’s Data Wrangling (DW) engine, an intuitive drag-and-drop tool that simplifies the process of cleaning and combining data, as well as BigQuery Data Transfer Service, which automates the process of moving data from non-Google Cloud sources. BigQuery also features native Visualization Studio capabilities, allowing users to quickly develop and publish visualizations of their data.
In addition, BigQuery has added improved SQL support and risk-free SQL development and testing for users wanting to do more advanced analysis. Google notes that more than 2.5 million users have already found success leveraging Google’s data transformation capabilities in their projects.
Together, the new features of BigQuery are designed to make it much quicker and easier for data professionals to transform large data sets into valuable insights. This is an especially good news for businesses that often have to rely on inefficient and costly manual processes for transforming data in the past.
By introducing these groundbreaking data transformation capabilities, Google is taking a big step towards democratizing access to data and helping businesses get actionable insights faster than ever before.
