IBM, a tech giant, made its grand debut at the US Open with their newly developed artificial intelligence (AI)-generated tennis commentary and draw analysis.
This AI-publicly available app was developed as a part of a partnership between IBM and the USTA (United States Tennis Association). The app, known as SlamTracker, provides play-by-play analysis, draw projections, and a comprehensive statistical summary.
The AI-based technology utilized by IBM uses sophisticated algorithms to analyze and report on the players’ form, results, and the current state of the tournament. It is then able to accurately predict the outcome of upcoming matches, provide insight into the player’s strategies, and suggest possible adjustments. Additionally, IBM’s AI-generated commentary and analysis provides insights into the players’ mental states, as well as their playing style.
IBM’s AI-driven technology has previously been used at other major events such as Wimbledon and the French Open. The USTA Partnership Executive VP of Innovation & Technology Laurent Delanney commented, “IBM’s AI-driven technology is playing a vital role in delivering personalized and data-driven insights to tennis fans of the US Open.”
SlamTracker is poised to revolutionize the way tennis fans interact with the sport. It will attract a much wider audience and its comprehensive analysis stands to have a greater impact on broadcasts and official commentary.
The evolution of technology is transforming the way we experience tennis. IBM’s new AI-generated tennis commentary and draw analysis technology has already made a huge impact and will certainly be seen in the future.
