Recent advancements in artificial intelligence (AI), analytics, and machine learning have resulted in a greater emphasis on their importance in driving corporate success according to a recent survey.

Gartner, Inc., a leading market research firm and consultancy, recently surveyed 2000 CIOs worldwide to assess the current state of analytics and AI in the workplace. The results revealed that a majority of businesses view AI and analytics as essential to their performance and success moving forward.

The survey showed that most businesses are now recognizing the importance of investing in AI and analytics. 60% of respondents indicated that their companies had invested in analytics and AI technologies over the past 12 months, an encouraging sign that businesses are embracing the potential of these technologies.

Cost savings and improved customer insights emerged as primary drivers of corporate revenue when it comes to leveraging AI and analytics. Respondents said they believed their investments would pay off in terms of lower costs, better customer service, improved operational efficiency, and increased sales.

The survey data also highlights the increasingly competitive landscape and the impacts of technology-driven disruption. Companies are increasingly competing on the basis of advanced technology; this is why CIOs view AI and analytics as key to winning new customers and outsmarting the competition.

Gartner’s survey provides a valuable insight into the current attitudes of CIOs towards AI and analytics. The results confirm the essential role these technologies play in achieving corporate success. As such, both CIOs and decision-makers in other departments should prioritize AI and analytics investments in order to gain a competitive edge.
