Amazon Web Services (AWS) has introduced AWS AppFabric, a no-code service that facilitates the integration of multiple software-as-a-service (SaaS) applications. The unveiling took place during the AWS Applications Innovation Day event.
According to the company, IT and security teams can integrate third-party apps within their organization using AppFabric via a few clicks in the AWS console. The integration eliminates the need for customized point-to-point (P2P) integrations and provides a unified view of application usage and performance.
AWS said that AppFabric is designed to connect with 12 productivity applications and five security apps. Furthermore, it can be integrated with 17 SaaS applications through APIs. The company claims that with AppFabric, customers can reduce operational costs
Today, Amazon Web Services (AWS) announced the launch of AppFabric, a new service designed to simplify the process of connecting SaaS applications. AppFabric will enable customers to connect their applications with other services on the cloud, without having to write code.
AppFabric simplifies the process of connecting SaaS applications by allowing customers to “connect once and reuse many times.” Customers define a connection between two applications, and then that connection can be used with other services. AppFabric is designed to speed up the integration and connection process by reducing the manual effort needed to establish secure connections between applications.
AWS has also provided a number of templates to help customers quickly connect their applications to other services. These templates consist of pre-configured logic that handles common authentication requirements, routing to the target service, and other associated functionality.
AppFabric can be used to connect applications hosted on AWS with other cloud services, as well as applications running on premises. The service supports a wide variety of protocols, including REST, SOAP, FTP, FTPS, SFTP, and Amazon SQS.
AWS is offering AppFabric as a pay-as-you-go service, and customers can get started for free with the basic plan. This plan will enable customers to connect up to five applications. From there, customers can upgrade to the Pro plan for unlimited connections and more advanced features.
AppFabric looks to be a useful tool for simplifying the process of connecting SaaS applications. With its support for multiple protocols and easy setup, AppFabric should be a useful addition to any cloud strategy.
